  1. Press Windows + R Keys and type gpedit.msc and hit Enter
  2. When the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to the following path –

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update

  1. Double click on No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations in the right pane
  2. Select the Enabled radio button and then click on Apply and then OK

  4. Under Properties set the Startup type to Disabled
  5. Next, click the Stop button and first, click Apply and then OK. This will stop the Windows License Manager
  6. Do the same to Windows Update i.e.set the Startup type to Disabled and stop the service
