Step 3: Go to the System Properties window, and under the section of System restore, go to Protection settings. Select the preferred disk to pick when trying to restore the system.

Step 4: Another window pops up, Restore settings, which shows System Protection is disabled. Change that to Turn on System Protection by selecting that option and click on OK to apply changes.

Step 6. Enter a relevant name which is easy to recognize as a restore point. The restore point will have a date and time added automatically on it.

Now whenever you need to restore your system, you can follow steps 1 to 3 and get to System Restore. This shows as an option when a restore point exists with your system. Click on it to get back to the settings and you will not be required to lose your system to some virus attack or abrupt system failures.
