What if suddenly your computer starts crashing and won’t boot? Well, it can be a severe issue as you will be left helpless. In this condition, you might have a risk of losing data. It is relevant to learn how to face these situations with the possibility of unknown. Here are a few tips to save your computer from abrupt crashing.
Another scenario could be when the computer boots but certain functions are not working for you, learn how to fix Start Menu not working. But if the computer won’t boot, it is hard to trace the root cause of the problem. It is possible you don’t get any error messages on the screen, and it just refuses to start Windows 10.
Let’s get started with some of the common issues and their solutions.
Check the Hardware:
If the screen is not turning on at all, you need to check the cable connections for your system, for the laptops, check the battery status. Once you are sure of the connecting cables, next check the screen for the display. Remove any external devices added to your computer.
If you are using different devices attached to the system, you might need to check if it still shows you a monitor connected to your system or when you use multiple screens you need to check the correct display. The input can be checked by pressing the Windows key +P. Sometimes it could be the problem, and this will solve the screen problem.

Use Windows Startup Repair:
If you are not aware, Windows comes with its own Startup Repair program. It runs for all kinds of problems which occur with Windows 10. Now you need to have your installation disk with you, or you can get one from the official Microsoft website. It requires you to have a license to install Windows 10.
Once you follow the steps given with the installation, it will give you boot options.
You can head to Troubleshooter options, choose Advanced options. Here you can see the Startup Repair, click on it. This initiates a scan for your computer and first, it will fix all the files creating this problem in the first place.
Use Windows Restore:
Go use this method, you need to create a System Restore on your system prior to any problems. It is very easy to locate system files, once you have chosen a path to save all of them. Let’s begin with how to create a restore point.
Step 1: Open Start Menu and type system restore in the search box. Open Create a restore point which is a part of Control panel.
Step 2: The tab opened will show you System Protection, and you can choose a drive for which you want to create a restore point. But first, check if protection is enabled, if not go to Configure and change the Turn the protection on.
This is a safe point to use in case you are ever stuck at some point with Windows 10.
When you use the method of System Restore to get Windows 10 to boot up, you need to follow the same steps to reach the Advanced options. With the System Restore option on top you can click on it.
It will immediately take you to the User account available and you can log in from other accounts to reach the desktop.
Go to Command Prompt from the Start Menu and Run as Administrator.
Type the following command to fix the boot issues.
This recovery console command creates a new master boot record to the assigned hard drive. If you do not enter any Hard disk name in command it will load to the primary drive which consists of your system.
Next command is to help your system fix the boot related issues.
Type next in line on command prompt –
It occurs if the older version of Windows or Linux exists in your machine. This can cause interruption for Windows 10.
