2. Type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter
3. Select the partition you want to remove.
4. Right-click on it and select Delete Volume.

2. Via Command Prompt

You can also use the administrative Command Prompt to delete hard drive partitions on your Windows PC. Here are the steps for the same –

1. In the Windows search bar, type cmd and select Run as administrator from the right-hand side.
2. When the Command Prompt opens, type diskpart and press Enter.
3. Type list volume and press Enter.

4. Type select (volume number). So if you want to delete Volume 1, type select volume 1 and press

3. Through PowerShell

When using PowerShell, there are two ways in which you can delete partitions –

(i) When There Is A Driver Letter Assigned

1. In the Windows search bar, type PowerShell and select Run as administrator from the right-hand side.
2. When the Administrative PowerShell opens, type Get-Volume and press Enter.
3. Next type Remove-Partition -DriveLetter (the letter of the partition you want to delete). So, if its driver letter “D”, the command will be Remove-Partition -DriveLetter D
4. Confirm by typing Y.

(ii) Delete Partition Without A Drive Letter

1. In the Windows search bar, type powershell.
2. Select Run as administrator.
3. When the Administrative PowerShell opens, type Get-disk and press Enter
4. Type get-partition -disknumber (number). If disk number is 0 then the command will be get-partition -disknumber 0

5. Press Enter.
6. Now, if you want to delete the partition number, e.g. 1 then the command will be remove-partition -disknumber 0 -partitionnumber 1
7. Press Enter.
8. Confirm by pressing Y.
