Windows 10 Will Become Powerful With 20H1 Build

The ever-evolving Windows has come with yet another build for addition to the May 2019 update. All those who are using Windows Insider can expect the preview early next year to build 20H1. As Microsoft announced the 19H2 today, with the slow ring you will get the benefits of all the reviewed features added to it.  Learn how to get Windows Insider program on Windows 10.

You are currently using Windows version 1903  (OS build 18362.175) The latest feature update with the code name 20H2 is in development, which is expected to come next year.

Start Menu

The most awaited feature includes making the search easier by introducing a Top Start typing to search. Need to type the name of apps, documents, or the web to open the results immediately. This will not require the search box to be opened from the Start menu. Thus it is going to be a different experience for the users and helpful too.

Calendar:

You will find it easier to create events on the Calendar app this time. It has an option to open an event which is previously saved or to all together create a new event. In the current version, as you click the event section, it takes you to the App and there you enter the details. The task is now made easier to insert details on the desktop itself. Add date, time, location, and for the event and name it with the Title. If you require adding other parameters, you can click on More Details which will direct you to the Calendar app.

Language:

Language settings have also been revamped and will detect your handwriting to recognize your language. You can see the languages being used as a default on your system for Display, Apps and websites, Keyboard and Speech separately. It is all shown as one section which means if there is an issue with language settings, you can easily change it for the specific interface.

Cortana:

Keeping it similar to the smartphone experience, the device assistant Cortana is going to change accordingly. You can interact with it by typing now on. You can also see the app coordinating with the system theme – light or dark mode.

Windows Ink Workspace:

The upcoming Windows Ink Workshop expects to have features to enable the Digital pen to work along with the Microsoft Whiteboard and Snip & Sketch apps. You will notice that the settings are kept the same as the current version to make it easy to access the Windows Ink Page and also the Pen. Microsoft Whiteboard is a virtual canvas which can be shared by a number of people and thus will provide help to all.

Task Manager:

Task Manager will be seen with a new and updated look for Performance tab. It will now show the storage type for each drive and that is the name alongside. It can be Solid State Drive or Hard disk Drive and that will be mentioned with the drives on his page. It comes to help for those who have a lot of disks and the storage will make it easy to identify.

File Explorer:

It is expected to be integrated with the OneDrive and thus it will also show you the results for the documents from online. The new version will have a drop-down search bar with the possible results as you type. This will be much more convenient to use when searching for something.

Also, you can see the search history as you click on the search bar to make your task easier. The suggestions make it easier to find a file and it is more convenient.

Narrator:

You can find various changes in Narrator app with this Windows 10 built 20H1. It will be easier to read the tables by moving from Header to cell data in steps. Magnifier uses the text cursor on the center of the screen for easy typing. The Narrator will now be telling you the title of the page linked to it, click CAPS + CTRL + D for the function. Now you can limit the bandwidth used for the download of updates. It was requested by a lot of users in the feedback as the low connection speed is hampering the process. The newly added option will optimize the download and also lets you set the monthly limit.

For Windows optimization, we recommend using Advanced System Optimizer. It is a tool to remove the junk files from your system and improve the performance of your system.

Windows Sandbox:

With the latest May update Windows introduced Sandbox to work as testing programs with no effect on system files. It works as a virtual machine and you can download and test the programs in Sandbox. With the new development, Sandbox gets the configuration files for the system. Hotkeys are introduced to be used while using Windows Sandbox in full-screen mode. Sending feedback to Microsoft is easier as it displays the error codes now.

Subsystem as Linux:

Windows finally adds a Linux kernel to the architecture. It is supposed to change the way you have been working on a computer with Linus as it acts as a Windows subsystem. Now Linux binaries communicate directly with the Windows hardware.

Your Phone App:

Your Phone app support for smartphones adds screen mirroring for few Android devices and customization phone notifications will now be possible. It can show real-time notification and allows you to clear them all at once.

  • Predictive writing is being tested.
  • It now supports dictation for more languages.
  • Swiftkey Typing intelligence.
  • Saves content on Notepad after a restart.
  • Emoji 12.0 update will let you open the page with Windows shortcut keys.
  • New OneDrive icon.
