Update Outdated Drivers of Your System:

Drivers are the piece of software that helps your hardware devices to communicate with Windows. Therefore, one likely reason for the Windows 10 shutdown problem is an outdated or missing driver.

It is always recommended by Microsoft to have the latest driver installed on your system. But manually updating a driver is a tedious process that takes a lot of research. As one incompatible driver may result in the total crash down of your PC. Therefore, to avoid all such problems, one should consider the best driver updater tool like Advanced Driver Updater to scan and update all the outdated drivers automatically.

The advanced scan engine of Advanced Driver Updater quickly scans your PC for all the outdated drivers. Now to update them with the most recent and compatible drivers, press on the Update All button. And all the outdated drivers will be replaced by the latest drivers.

Perform a Complete Shut Down:

The Fast Startup feature introduced in Windows 10 is a classic combination of Shut down and hibernation. This means when you shut down your Windows 10 PC with Fast Startup feature enabled, it although closes all the running processes and applications (like in normal shut down process) but saves the kernel current state to the disk (like in hibernation process). Now, as we all know, Kernel consists of the hardware drivers that computers use for communication with other hardware devices. So, saving the kernel state although speed up the startup process but in case a hardware driver that exists on your kernel stuck, it will hamper proper shutdown of your PC.

So, in case Windows 10 does not shut down properly then go for a complete shutdown of Kernel by opting for Restart option instead of Shut Down option. Now Windows will restart your machine, but it will not perform a complete shut down after discarding whatever kernel state has been saved.

Hello Alex, Regarding your query, please note both sleep and hibernate are power-saving states, but there’s a slight between both. When a PC goes to sleep mode all ongoing processes, open documents are saved to memory and PC goes to lower power state. While in hibernate mode all running applications and programs are saved on the hard disk and the computer turns off completely(resulting in zero power consumption). To know more about both the modes you can visit the following link: https://wethegeek.com/why-hibernatesleep-mode-is-better-than-shutdown/.
