iPhone 13 Pro Series Vs. iPhone 14 Series: Camera Comparison

iphone 14 pro camera compare

We must acknowledge that Apple has abandoned its traditional strategy with the iPhone 14 series. The smartphone’s principal sensor boasts a resolution of 48MP, a first in Apple’s history. Along with the primary 48 Megapixel sensor, the 14 Pro lineup boasts a 12MP Ultrawide and a 12MP Telephoto lens with PDAF, OIS, and 3✖Optical Zoom capabilities.

The all-new 48MP larger sensor allows for better low-light photography and autofocus, which keeps subjects in focus while still preserving details and vibrancy for the background subjects. A 48MP primary camera lens offers better zoom and low-light capabilities, producing a better resolution image even at a distance or in dim lighting conditions. Not to add that the new 48MP lens is 65% bigger than the primary camera lens on the iPhone 13 Pro.

The iPhone 14 Pro now includes a new “Action Mode” for the video that aids in stabilization even if you’re in the middle of the action.

The most recent Apple Silicon chip, as Apple claims, is capable of a maximum of 4-Trillion computations per picture. This complements with redesigned “Photonic Engine,” enabling Deep Fusion to occur early on raw images, preserving more data and enabling brighter, more powerful shots.

iPhone 13 Pro Series vs. iPhone 14 Pro Series: Performance Comparison

A16 Pure Bionic Chip new

Apple has stated that the A16’s 6-core CPU is quicker than their A15 Bionic chipset. However, the company hasn’t provided any concrete numbers. The A16 & A15 feature identical configurations, including a 5-Core GPU, a 16-Core Neural engine, two performance cores, and four efficiency cores.

The Apple Bionic A16 6-core CPU has around 16 billion, an extraordinary number of transistors for a mobile chipset. The transistor count on the A16 Bionic chipset is more than that of the A15 bionic chipset. It was constructed using a 4nm fabrication method, which TSMC undoubtedly made.

This implies that the Pro versions of the iPhone 14 series should process data more quickly because of the more transistors, which allow more work to be completed in a shorter time. Theoretically, it must be more effective than the A15 chipset, improving the overall efficiency of the iPhone 14 Pro series.

iPhone 13 Pro Series Vs. iPhone 14 Pro Series: Display Comparison

redesign lock screen in iPhone 14 Pro

The redesigned lock screen interface with the implementation of “Dynamic Island,” and AOD (Always On Display) feature are likely the most significant changes between the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro series. The iPhone 14 Pro models have a peak HDR brightness of 1600 nits and a peak outdoor brightness of 2000 nits which is significantly higher than the previous generation iPhone 13 Pro models.

Apple’s most recent iPhone 14 Pro series now sports a pill-shaped design instead of a notch.

Along with FaceID components, the pill-shaped cutout contains a front-facing camera sensor. Apple has also added a proximity sensor to the new lineup behind the display. One of its most innovative features is the device’s ability to animate notifications and alerts, so they move all around the pill-shaped module. This is called Dynamic Island. Anytime someone plays music, receives a notice, or does anything else, it will be visible.

This time in the iPhone 14, the bezels will be thinner than in the previous iPhone 13 Pro series. And as per the design and build part, the iPhone 14 Pro series maintains the recognizable design cues from iPhone 13 Pro series, including a flat body, a stainless steel body, and a glass back.

A Notable Feature of iPhone 14 Series over the iPhone 13 Series

 SOS by Satellite

SOS feature how to use in iPhone 14 pro

The latest iPhone 14 series has an emergency-only function that is an industry first and is presently only offered in the United States and Canada. This feature will allow your iPhone to connect to LEO satellites when cellular and Wi-Fi connectivity is unavailable. Users must be outside to receive the satellite signals for this service to function.

Emergency SOS will enable users to communicate via satellites and transmit emergency messages. Within just 15 seconds, and when there is a clear sky, a message can be sent using satellite frequencies. This function is for free for the following two years.

Crash Detection Feature

iphone 14 pro crash detection feature

The iPhone’s crash detection feature can now identify a severe traffic accident and promptly notify emergency services whenever a user is incapacitated or can’t reach their iPhone. These abilities expand upon already-existing features such as the barometer, which can now respond to changes in cabin pressure, the GPS, which provides extra information for speed changes, and the microphone, which can identify loud noises typical of catastrophic auto accidents.

To Wrap This Up

So, those were some significant distinctions between the iPhone 13 Pro series and the iPhone 14 Pro series that set the latter apart and elevate it above the former. We think the new iPhone 14 Pro series will outperform the 13 Pro series. However, if you are not concerned about the camera, display, Emergency satellite SOS or Crash Detection feature, you can go with iPhone 13 Pro series as well. iPhone 13 Pro series is also a good phone with a majestic camera and clear display. The choice is simple for users in North America but since the ROW is not getting satellite SOS, it may be ok to stick with the iPhone 13 Pro at the moment. These phones are more powerful than computers from 10 years ago, but they don’t have the utility like a desktop for casual users. People using their phone for calling, messaging and generally communicating, with the need for high end graphics and 16 trillion operations exist! Don’t know what will they do with these phones ? But then, it makes sense to have a sense of security and privacy, and on that front, iOS is anyday superior over Android so one can choose any iPhone, as per the money in the bank ?

“If You are using a 13 Pro & 13 Pro, then it doesn’t make sense to go for iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max for now. I am saying this because you’ve answered it yourself(In the second part of your comment). And the second reason is the new A16 Bionic chipset which is also a Hexa-core like you will find in the previous gen A15 Bionic chipset, with the same cluster of cores, i.e., two performance cores and four efficiency cores. Apple doesn’t provide any concrete info about the clock speed, instruction set, or architecture that defines the speed & performance of a CPU. Even the GPU is the same on both devices/series. But if you are attracted to the new Dynamic Island, a sure improved 48MP primary camera lens, and n Always On Display for iPhone & lastly, if you think that Emergency SOS & Fall detection feature is made for you. Suppose you are that kind of user. Go for it. Lastly, it’s your money and your choice.
