How to Protect Credit Cards from Identity Thefts

Cyber Security How-To

Credit Card information is one of the most valuable pieces of information in a person’s life. And that makes it important to keep this information secured. Now you can lock the physical card in your locker or bury it underground but your Credit Card information is not safe if you have used it online for shopping, paying bills, or any other financial transactions. This information is stored in the browser, making it easy to use your credit card as you do not have to memorize it or enter the numbers each time you transact. This can give rise to credit card identity theft and it is important to protect your credit cards by securing the information.

There are two ways to ensure credit card fraud protection. One is to make sure that this info is never saved on your computer. The second way is to install a digital vault in your PC to lock all the important credentials, Credit card, and Social Security information. While the first method is efficient, it requires a person to have an eidetic memory to remember all the numbers, pins, usernames, and passwords which is quite rare. The other method is to use Advanced Identity Protector, an application designed to scan and detect all the identity traces in your computer and move them to a digital vault locked by a master password known only to you.

Move to the Secure Vault. A vault with all your credentials will be created which will have one master password.

Remove Traces Permanently. People with eidetic memory should choose this option as they probably remember all the credentials they ever used and can safely delete them. Others should not use this option as the loss of credentials will make you safe from identity theft but it also means that you won’t be able to use the service unless you remember the credentials.

Add to Exclusion List.  This option allows users to prevent Advanced Identity Protector from taking any action on the credentials now and shortly.

Choose the First option to create a vault and click on the continue button.

Step 7: When using the app for the first time, you will get a prompt asking to create the Secure Vault. Click on the Yes button.
