The Dinosaur Game, more popularly known as Chrome Dino is a built-in browser game that is available in the Google Chrome browser. It was developed by Sebastien Gabriel in 2014 to pass the time when the PC was not connected to the internet. It is a simple game where players have to guide a dinosaur (Tyrannosaurus Rex) to safety by jumping over Cactus and ducking under Pterodactyls.

The game offers to launch when a user tries to navigate to a web page but receives No Internet message with a pixelated T Rex icon. Press the Space bar key on your keyboard and the T Rex comes to life and starts moving left to right on a side-scrolling landscape. The player has to ensure that the Chrome Dino does not crash into any obstacles by jumping or ducking with the arrow keys on the keyboard.
If you wish to access the game, then you need not necessarily wait for your internet connection to malfunction. Simply open a new tab and type one of the following commands in the address bar followed by Enter key.

The game play is simple and requires the player to avoid the obstacles because crashing with anyone would end the game and display the Game Over message. The game starts on an easy note but it gets faster every 100 points and the obstacles increase in size and are placed more frequently as the game progresses.
After you cross 500 points you get flying pterodactyls flying at you which you can duck rather than jump to avoid by using the down arrow key. Another notable change occurs after 700 points where the game auto switches to dark mode and then switches back to normal mode after 900 points.
The game can be paused by pressing the ALT key and switched to full-screen mode by pressing the F11 key.

After 1000 points the game becomes difficult and a slight distraction can make your Dino crash into the Cacti or the Dino Birds. There are a few hacks that you can try to change the current default settings.
Step 1: Initiate the game and make a right-click on the web page and choose Inspect from the context menu.
Note: You can also press CTRL+Shift+I on the keyboard and the Developer Tools windows will open.
Step 2: Now click on the Console tab at the top bar and then to adjust the height of the jump, type the following command.
Runner.instance_.tRex.setJumpVelocity(15)
Note: You can copy and paste the command above in the Console window. Also, the number “15” is the height set for the jump which can be increased or decreased as per your discretion.
Step 3: To change the running speed type or copy and paste the following command.
Runner.instance_.setSpeed(1000)
Note: The number “1000” can be increased or decreased depending on what speed you want your Chrome Dino to run at.
Step 4: Close the developer tools window and refresh the page to start a new Chrome Dino game with new settings.

Reducing speed and increasing jump height may make playing the game easier but it does not make your Chrome Dino impervious to obstacles. Here is a method that will empower your Dino to run forever without being affected by obstacles although that may remove the challenge and fun from the game.
Step 1: Open a new tab and paste chrome://dino in the address bar to load the game.
Step 2: Make a right-click and then click on Inspect option from the context menu.
Step 3: The Developer Tools window will open where you have to click on the Console tab.
Step 4: Type or copy/paste the following codes into the Console window.

Press Enter Key
Runner.prototype.gameOver = function (){}
Step 5: Close the Developer Tools window and refresh the Chrome tab to let the new settings load.

Step 6: If you get bored from the endless running without challenge you can revert to the default settings by pasting the following command in the console window.
Runner.prototype.gameOver = original
Step 7: Refresh the web page again and start a new game with the original settings.
