Google Brings Duet AI Assistant to Supercharge Workspace Apps – Just $30/month

This Tuesday, Google introduced an exciting offer for businesses, making its AI-driven toolkit accessible to corporate users for a mere $30/month per user. The company revealed its ambitious plan to integrate the ‘Duet AI Assistant’ across its entire suite of Workspace applications, encompassing popular tools like Gmail, Docs, Slides, and Drive.

Google shared that the Duet technology underwent a substantial testing phase, engaging over a million users who explored the capabilities of Google’s virtual assistant. This eagerly anticipated feature is now poised to enrich the experience of all subscribers to Google’s Workspace applications.

Google’s AI Assistant That’s Changing the Workspace Game

At its I/O developer conference earlier this year, Google introduced the Duet AI. This innovative technology was presented as a versatile partner aimed at enhancing collaboration across all of your Google applications. Importantly, these charges are additional to the existing expenses associated with their Workspace subscriptions.

Nevertheless, Google is offering the option for companies to participate in free trial periods prior to committing to the subscription. As for smaller enterprises and everyday users, Google is still in the process of determining the exact pricing structure.

However, embracing all this AI prowess comes at a cost. Google is setting a price of $30 per user for Duet access, particularly for sizable organizations. This parallels Microsoft’s pricing strategy for its AI counterpart, Copilot, offering comparable functionalities across the majority of Office applications. In both scenarios, this entails a significant investment in a suite of AI tools that are still relatively fresh in the market.

For individuals who utilize Workspace, the presence of Duet will become ubiquitous across virtually every application you engage with. Its integration varies; in some cases, it presents itself as a separate menu that may be accessed by clicking the Duet icon in the top-right corner. As an alternative, you can conveniently request Duet’s assistance from within the body of an email or other document in other situations.
