It is said that the ransomware affected files and could be decrypted without paying any kind of ransom. This led Avast to work on preparing the Avast Decryptor for the aforementioned strains.

Avast broke the encryption used by the ransomware thereby creating the decryptor with the help of the information shared by Jiří Vinopal.

Similarly, for another ransomware named Babuk, you can also find the free decryptor by Avast. It was earlier announced on Twitter by Vx-underground which has a lot of information about a large number of malware source code and samples etc.

After the change of heart from the former developers of the Babuk ransomware group, a person had shared the source code used. This was further used by Avast to create the decryptor for Babuk. However, in the recent news, Avast has reported that this decryptor for Babuk is only helpful to those affected by the .babuk or .babyk.
