Revisit the 70s With Instagram’s ‘Superzoom’ Feature

Instagram is a treasure trove of new features and technologies to entertain the audience. Since its launch, Instagram has introduced myriads of features that increased its following all over the world. This time, instead of a face mask or doggy nose, Instagram brings a much funnier feature called Superzoom. The feature has been tested positive by reviewers and is reported to work fine on almost every Android and iOS device.

Superzoom is provided within the same in-app camera that you use to go live. Superzoom focuses and zooms in at a person’s face or any other object with a thrilling sound in the background in a totally vintage horror movie-esque fashion. So, if you want to have some fun and make your friends smile, you can create and share such videos on Instagram. Let’s learn how you can explore this feature on your device.

  1. Launch Instagram app on your Android or iPhone.
  2. Tap “camera” icon located in the top left-hand side corner of your Android or iPhone.

  3. You can see the multiple options available through swiping under the shutter button of camera. You need to swipe recording options available to find the Superzoom feature placed between Boomerang and Rewind options.
  4. Once found, you can tap the circular shutter key on screen to record an automatic three-second-long Superzoom clip. If you need a longer video, just press and hold the shutter button and it records a fifteen-second long Superzoom video. With Superzoom, you can capture extended or slow zoom shot of a particular object.

  5. Once you’re done recording, you can either directly share the Superzoom clip with your followers by adding it to your Story, or send as a DM (Direct Message) to your friends. If you just want to keep it to yourself, you’re allowed to save the video as GIF and cherish it later.

Honestly, you don’t need Superzoom to zoom in your videos, as you can zoom in by vertically squeezing the screen while recording. But, you won’t get the same vintage movie effects as with Superzoom. The feature may not look very innovative from a technical point of view, it certainly is fun.

The feature alone is enough to convert any soothing object into thrilling and haunting for fun. You can capture any object from your face to your pet or even your half-eaten banana and change it into something totally phenomenal and downright hilarious.
