Introducing Sprinkles – Microsoft’s Fun Selfie App for iOS

The teens of ‘Snapchat generation’ just got luckier! Microsoft recently launched its very own fun camera app for iOS—named as Sprinkles, which has now earned a featured spot in the “New apps we love” section of the App Store. It has got all that you need from animated emoji, stickers to captions. The app allows you to have fun with your photographs by adding some cool doodles and captions—Cleary aimed for the teen audience.

Sprinkles is leveraged with Microsoft’s machine learning and A.I. capabilities to do things like detect faces, determine the photo subject’s age and emotion, figure out your celebrity look-a-like, suggest captions, and more.

These tools have been previously used by many other consumer-facing web projects from Microsoft, like CelebsLike.me, which shows your celebrity doppelgängers, for example, or How-Old.net, a site from Microsoft’s machine-learning team that tries to guess your age.

So, you say it’s Better Than Facebook and Snapchat?

Well, judge it yourself after using the app! Although the app has a slight edge of advantage over Facebook and Snapchat for sure, because of Microsoft’s advanced machine learning capabilities. It uses object recognition to understand what’s in the photo, or it can tell if you’re smiling, and then suggests relevant captions. (Like, a scowling photo can be immediately prompted the caption “Turn that frown upside down.”)

Sprinkles is even capable of suggesting captions for your photographs like you snapped on a Saturday then it can offer you captions related to the day or based on where the photo was taken, at what time etc. So, if you’re one of em who faces trouble thinking about captions for their snaps, Sprinkles is the right choice for you.
