How to Turn Off Windows 11’s Startup Sound

Step 1: Using the Windows 11 keyboard shortcut “Win+I,” open the Settings window.

Step 2: Now click on the “Personalization” tab located on the left side followed by “Themes”.

Method 2: Turn Off Windows 11 Startup Sound Using Group Policy Editor

The Group Policy Editor is another option for turning off the Windows 11 launch sound. Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc) is available by default in Windows 11 Pro, Enterprise, and Education editions. Make sure you read the steps and understand them completely before attempting them to disable Startup Sound from Group Policy Editor

Step 1: Press Windows + R on your keyboard to open the Run Box.

Step 2: Type “gpedit.msc” into the Run box and click “OK” or press the Enter Key.

Step 5: Select “Enabled” from the pop-up window that displays, then click “OK” and “Apply” to confirm the changes.

After you’ve done that, reboot your computer, and the Windows 11 launch sound will be gone.

Method 3: Turn Off Windows 11 Startup Sound Using The Registry Editor

The Windows Registry is a hierarchical database that houses all the settings available on your Windows PC in the form of keys that use binary digits “0” & “1” to turn on/off any setting. Here are the steps to disable Windows 11 startup sound using the Windows Registry Editor.

Step 1: Press the Windows and R Key to open the RUN box and then type “regedit” in the Search box, followed by the Enter key.

Step 2: Navigate to the path below by copying and pasting it in the search bar and then double-click “DisableStartupSound” in the right pane.

Step 3: The value data will be set to “1” by default. To start your Windows 11 system discreetly in the future, change it to “0,” click “OK,” and restart the machine.
