What are the Different Types of Autoplay on Netflix?
The first one is a feature everyone loves especially the binge-watchers. This feature automatically plays the next episode of the TV show you are watching. While the other feature that we are referring to is preview Autoplay.
A feature that annoys most of the Netflix users. With this setting enabled when you browse Netflix dashboard the trailer of a movie or TV show automatically starts playing. This is irritating when you pause for a while to read a movie synopsis or other details and the trailer begins blaring in the background.
No longer you need to struggle with it as Netflix now allows its users to disable these trailers from Autoplay.
In addition to this, if you are struggling with data usage you can limit that too using settings offered by Netflix.

How to stop Netflix Autoplay?
- Open a web browser.
- Log in to your Netflix account.
- Click your profile photo > “Manage Profiles.”
- If you have multiple profiles you’ll need to click the profile you want to turn off autoplay for.
- Click the pen icon to Edit selected profile.
- Scroll down to find a section that reads Autoplay controls.
- To stop Netflix from playing the next episode of the TV show you are streaming uncheck “Autoplay next episode in a series on all devices”.
Note: This is an old option and has been around for quite a while. It’s just that we always overlooked it.
- To stop auto-playing of preview when you browse Netflix’s home page uncheck “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices” to stop clips from playing automatically.
This one is a new setting, it will let you browse Netflix without any interventions caused due to movie or show trailer.
Note: It doesn’t matter if the setting is only available when you access Netflix on the web browser. Remember changes made by you will apply to all the devices you are running Netflix on be it phone, Smart TV, etc.
Caution: If chosen settings don’t work switch to another profile and then switch back to the profile you made changes. This should work.
If that doesn’t work, log out of Netflix and re-login. This should stop Netflix’s Autoplay.
