These images are known as URL QR Code and can be easily generated in your Chrome browser by altering a setting related to Chrome Flags.

The Google Chrome browser consists of many features, some of which are not known to many. One among them is the ability to generate QR Codes for a webpage. However, this feature is not available for all chrome users and needs to be activated via a change of Chrome Flag Settings. Follow the below-mentioned steps to generate QR code for web pages.

Step 1: Launch the Google Chrome Browser and open a new tab.

Step 2: In the top address bar, type chrome://flags, and hit the Enter key on your Keyboard.

Step 3: Type QR Code in the search box on the top just below the Address bar.

Step 4: You will automatically see the relevant results appear beneath the search box. Locate the option labeled as Enable sharing page via QR Code and click the box next to it to select Enabled among the dropdown options.

Step 5: Close this tab and open any website of your choice, and you will be able to see the QR code generator on the right side of the address bar.

Step 6: Click on the address bar and click on the icon that resembles four tiny boxes wrapped around by right-angled brackets. When you hover the mouse cursor over it, you will see a notification informing users about Creating a QR code for this page.

Step 7: Click on the icon from the above step, and it will display the QR code of the webpage, which can be downloaded by clicking on the Download button.

Once you have downloaded the QR code, it will download as a PNG image file shared with others just like any other image file. Anyone can scan the image when opened on your phone to open the webpage within seconds without having to type the entire URL.

How To Generate The URL QR Code In Google Chrome Browser Using Chrome Flags On Your Android Phone?

The steps to generate the URL QR Code in Android devices are almost similar with a few changes. Here are the steps:

Step 1: Open Chrome Browser on your Android smartphone, and in a new tab, type chrome://flags.

Step 2: In the search box, type QR code and choose to Enable among the dropdown options near it.

Step 3: Once you have enabled the QR code, you will have to tap the Relaunch button at the bottom right corner to restart the Chrome browser. (Don’t worry, you will not lose any of the opened tabs.)

Step 4: Open any URL you want to share and tap on the address bar to view the Share icon.

Step 5: Tap on the Share icon, and from the sharing options displayed, choose the QR Code, and you will see a QR code image on your Android screen.

Step 6: You can let anyone scan this QR code from their device to open the same webpage on their device.

Note: This option also lets you scan any QR code by tapping the Scan option on the above screen.
