Firefox 65 Brings Privacy Control And AV1 Support

Mozilla releases Firefox 65 to strike a better balance between maintaining privacy and controlling trackers.

What is Firefox 65?

Firefox 65 is an update of the Firefox browser that brings new interface, privacy controls, including blocking trackers.

Moreover, it has a redesigned control panel by adding more options including a “set and forget” a “block everything” and a custom mode that lets you drill down on individual aspects of the browser experience.

However, the basic options remain the same.

What else Firefox 65 has to offer?

Firefox 65 puts choices more blatantly in front of the user to provide more explanation as to what each option demands. Also, Firefox is making finding new options easier. By clicking on the “i” button in the navigation bar you can see what current block settings are, what trackers are active on the site and you can also change these settings directly,  if required.

Besides, this Firefox 65 also adds AV1 video compression support for Windows users. Supports Google’s WebP image format supports Apple’s Handoff technology to bring along the websites you were browsing when you move from Mac to iPhone or iPad. Last but not the least Firefox adds task manager to show how much memory is consumed by extensions and websites.

How Firefox 65 will help to fine tune privacy?

Firefox now offer three options namely: standard, strict and custom.

Standard blocks tracking in private tabs.

Strick will block third party trackers in normal sites.

Custom will let you pick specific controls to block cookies and trackers.

The move is part of suppression among browser makers trying to stick steal user data. Mozilla wants to provide better online privacy hence it has come up with Firefox 65.
