Step 1: Type Run in the Search bar.
Step 2: In the Run command, type gpedit.msc and then press Enter to enter Local Group Policy Editor.
Step 3: Here navigate to the following location: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Credential User Interface
Step 4: Once you double-click on Credential User Interface, look for the option that says Prevent the use of security questions for local accounts policy from the Right Panel and double click it.
Step 5: From the new window check mark the option Enabled and then click on Apply and then OK.
Once you have finished doing all the steps, you will not be asked to create any security questions while making a local user account. Wasn’t that simple.
How To Disable Security Questions in Windows 10 Using Registry?
In case you have the Home edition of Windows 10 Operation System, you will have to make changes in the Registry to disable security questions in Windows 10, since Local Group Policy Editor option is unavailable in the Windows 10 Home edition.
Note: Since changes in Windows registry can hamper normal functioning of the PC, it is suggested that a full backup be taken before performing any changes in registry entries.
Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Type Run in the Search bar.
Step 2: Type regedit and press Enter.
Step 3: This will open the Registry Editor, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
Step 4: Right click on Windows Folder and choose New from the drop-down menu, and finally click on Key.
Step 5: You need to name the new key as System and then press Enter.
Step 6: Once the key is created, right-click on it and then choose New from the drop-down and then choose DWORD (32-bit) Value.
Step 7: You now need to give a name to the newly created key. Name it NoLocalPasswordResetQuestions and press the Enter key.
Step 8: Finally double-click on the new key and change DWORD value from 0 to 1 and then click on OK.
Step 9: Lastly Restart your Windows 10 PC to apply the changes.
