Features like Photos, Siri, Messages, Notes, Maps, were some that received significant changes and enhancements. However, features such as Mail app was amongst the deprived ones receiving a hand full of enhancements.

With iOS 11 adding doodles or inserting drawing become much easier, deleting bulk images is still a missing feature that was much demanded by users. But since it’s still a new operating system, not a lot of users might be aware about it’s hidden intricacies.

Insert Drawings with Ease

Until now, every time there was a need to upload a drawing in the Mail app, it was created in another app and then was uploaded as image or an attachment.

However, with iOS 11, Apple has introduced some innovative drawing tools that can directly be used in the Mail app to draw images and can easily be send over.

To, insert a drawing in your email, simply hover your cursor to the place where you wish to insert a drawing and tap there. This will bring up the options. Now keep on hitting the right arrow till you get Insert Drawing option and click on it. The drawing window will then come up where you can show your creativity with different colors and styles. Once done, click Done and then Insert Drawing to add it to your email.

Minimalistic Changes In the UI

Considering the looks of the Mail box, the opinions may differ with different users. To some the minimal changes in iOS 11 may look better, however to some it may be the reverse.

In iOS 10 the mailbox(Inbox) folder was earlier positioned centrally at the top. However, in iOS 11, the name of the mailbox has been shifted under the back button and has been enlarged in size.

In addition, the Search bar is also revamped and looks much better than it was in iOS 10.

Another interesting feature introduced in iOS 11 is Collapse Read Messages. This option can be located be navigating from Settings > Mail > Collapse Read Messages, and is toggled on by default. This innovative feature shrinks all the emails in a thread that have been read and keeps the opens the latest ones so that we don’t miss anything. If you wish to open any mail from the thread, simply tap on it and it will open.

Adding New Mail Accounts Is Somewhere Else

With iOS 11, adding a Mail account has entirely changed. Unlike iOS 10 where adding a Mail account required navigation from either Settings > Mail, Calendar or Contacts > Accounts, iOS 11 has a new Accounts option in the Settings. This can be reached by navigating from Settings > Accounts & Passwords. Once there, a new Mail account can be added as per user’s will.
