The secret code can include letters, numbers, and special characters. You can also use emojis for added personalization and security. Instead of having all the locked chats visibly grouped in a folder, you now have the option to conceal them. This additional layer of security involves using a distinct password, separate from the one used to unlock your smartphone.

You now can craft a distinctive password using emojis and words to safeguard your chats through a passcode known only to you. Notably, the company’s top executive has shared details that users can configure settings to access locked chats simply by typing the secret code into the search bar.

How to Add or Access ‘Secret Code’ to Lock Your Chats?

WhatsApp simplifies the process of locking individual chats by allowing you to long-press a conversation instead of entering each chat setting. To maintain privacy, open the locked chats list, tap the three dots, navigate to Chat Lock settings, switch on Hide locked chats, and put a secret code. Following these steps, your locked chats will no longer appear in the main chat window. This design enhancement offers heightened privacy compared to the current WhatsApp layout.

To access your locked chats, just input the secret code into the search bar. It’s important to note that this visibility is momentary and remains in effect only until you exit WhatsApp, guaranteeing a private and safe chat experience.
