Revolutionary Update: Use Your WhatsApp Account on Four Devices Simultaneously

In a major development for WhatsApp users, the messaging giant has unveiled a new feature that allows individuals to access their accounts on multiple devices. This new feature will enable users to simultaneously access their WhatsApp account on up to four different devices, according to reports. The announcement from the Meta-owned platform assures that the end-to-end encryption of messages, media, and calls will be maintained while linking each device with the WhatsApp account independently.

Furthermore, the new update mandates that if the primary phone remains inactive for an extended period, all connected devices will automatically log out as a security measure. While the company has not specified the exact length of inactivity that will trigger the automatic logout. This move is expected to prevent unauthorized access to the account and protect user privacy.

So, What’s New in This Update?

Yes, you can now use your same WhatsApp account for up to 4 devices simultaneously. Previously, users were restricted to using their WhatsApp account on a single phone and multiple companion desktop devices. The new feature means that users can now sync their messages across all connected devices, including other smartphones. This ensures that even if one device is turned off, users can still access their WhatsApp accounts on other devices. This new feature is expected to provide users with increased flexibility and convenience while using the popular messaging app.

What Is the Competition Offering?

The company had initially introduced multi device support in 2022, but the feature was limited to syncing the app across multiple desktop devices. However, the popular messaging app has now announced that it will extend its multi device support to multiple phones. While competitors like Telegram and Messenger offer multi-device syncing for messages, they do not provide end-to-end encryption, which is a critical feature for WhatsApp users concerned about their privacy.

Other Developments

Messaging app WhatsApp is set to introduce a new feature that allows users to link their devices using an OTC (One-Time Code.) Instead of the usual method of scanning a QR code on their mobile phone, users can now enter their mobile number on WhatsApp Web to get a one-time-use code, according to a company blog post. The feature is currently available for a limited number of linked devices, but the company has confirmed that it will extend the feature to more devices in the future.
