OpenAI Commences Rollout of ChatGPT App for iPhone users in the US: Get all the details here
OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, announced on Thursday the launch of the ChatGPT app specifically designed for Apple’s iOS platform. OpenAI revealed that the ChatGPT app, which boasts seamless history synchronization across devices, is now available for free. Previously, ChatGPT could be accessed solely on smartphones, including Android and iOS, through web browsers or workarounds. With the introduction of the dedicated app, iPhone users can conveniently download it from the Apple App Store.
In a recent blog post, the company stated that iPhone users in the United States will be granted initial access to the ChatGPT app, with availability expanding to other countries in the near future. OpenAI also assures that Android smartphone users can expect access soon. Notably, the ChatGPT app for iOS introduces voice input functionality, OpenAI has seamlessly integrated its Whisper API into the app, enabling ChatGPT to offer voice commands for user’s queries.

In order to run the ChatGPT iOS App, your iPhone should be running iOS version 16.1 or above.
“The ChatGPT app is free to use and syncs your history across devices. It also integrates Whisper, our open-source speech-recognition system, enabling voice input. ChatGPT Plus subscribers get exclusive access to GPT-4’s capabilities, early access to features, and faster response times, all on iOS. We’re starting our rollout in the US and will expand to additional countries in the coming weeks.
