How To See Saved Passwords In Chrome On Android

Google Chrome is one of the smartest and fastest web browsers for desktops and Android. The features it offers are certainly lucrative and exclusive for its audience. There’s indeed a huge difference between the desktop and smartphone versions. However it is more due to various restrictions put on applications of Android and the hardware associated. In previous version, if you wish to see saved passwords in Chrome on Android, it wasn’t possible. However, with the Chrome Version 62 (currently 62.0.3202.84), you can view the saved passwords.

With the latest version of Google Chrome, you don’t have to memorize the complexed passphrases anymore as you can copy them from directly from they’re saved. Let’s see how to see saved passwords in Chrome on Android handily:

Remember: To prevent any data theft, it is compulsory to set a pattern/pin or fingerprint lock on your Android before you can view the saved passwords to refrain the access of the data to any unauthorized person.

  1. The thumb rule to obtain the access over your saved passwords it to update your current Google Chrome on your Android with the latest version 62.0.3202.84. If for some reason, the update is not available for your device or location, you can try doing this over Chrome Beta Browser.
  2. Launch the latest Google Chrome web browser on your Android.
  3. Tap on the the three vertical dots located in the right-hand side top corner of the screen.
  4. Select Settings from the list of options.

  7. Tap on the eye icon to view the password in Chrome on Android.

  8. Verify it is you by unlocking the security lock or pattern/pin or fingerprint.

If you don’t have the access to your Android and wish to know the password of a specific website, you can still get it from your Desktop. You just need to redirect to passwors.google.com and login with your credentials. It will show the exact same data it has got on your Android.

Though it is a cool feature to never forget the password for any website, it also needs a proper check regularly. It is not recommended to save passwords for your banking and other critical websites.

You must also not share the pattern or pin of your Android with anyone and should change it on a regular interval. If you’re using a different machine than yours to login to check your passwords, make sure you log out properly. Any flaw in your computing may result into an unwanted situation.
