How to Automatically Forward Emails In Outlook And Gmail to Other Accounts

Most of us have a Google and Outlook account because they are simple and convenient to use. Some of us have multiple accounts, for multiple reasons, like a personal id, professional id etc. Unfortunately, one cannot be logged in on each of them at the same time. Sometimes one may find it difficult to check all mailboxes and may also miss out on important emails as well. So, if you are using Outlook and Gmail accounts then you can get all the messages in one inbox.

So, today, in this article we will be talking about mail forwarding in which we will read how to automatically forward emails in Outlook and Gmail.

Automatically Forward Emails in Outlook to Other Accounts

To automatically forward an email in Outlook, first you need to create a rule, for this, follow the step by step guide given:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook account Settings.
  2. Now, in Settings, under ‘Mail’ tab, go to ‘Rules’.

  3. Click on ‘+ Add new rule’.
  4. Here, to create a rule, type name of the rule in the ‘Name your rule’ box.

  5. After this, add a condition according to your priority and usage in condition box. (Enter the email address(es) of the contact(s) you want to forward the email to. Select the condition (if any) for emails you want to exclude from this rule.)

  6. In last box, under ‘Add an action’, select the ‘Forward To’ action, and the email to which you have to forward the mail. You can also add the exceptions, if any.

  7. After this step, click on ‘Save’.

All the Emails sent by this method will be shown in the similar way that all forwarded emails would, except for the subject line, if any.

Another direct way to forward your emails directly to another account from Outlook is:

  1. Open Outlook and go to ‘Settings’.
  2. In Settings, under ‘Mail’, go to ‘Forwarding’.
  3. Now, click on ‘Start forwarding’, and enter the email to which you have to forward the mail in ‘Forward my email to’ box.

  4. After this, press ‘Save’.

To stop mail forwarding, just go back to the ‘Forwarding’ tab under ‘Mail’, in Outlook account ‘Settings’ and check the box next to ‘Stop forwarding’ to disable it.

Automatically Forward Emails in Gmail to Other Accounts

  1. Login to your Gmail account from which you want Emails to be forwarded to another account and click on Gmail account ‘Settings’ icon given at the top right of the screen and click on ‘Settings’ from the drop-down menu.

  2. Next click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

  3. On the top you will find a button ‘Add a Forwarding address’ and click on it.
  4. Enter your email address on which you want your emails to be forwarded automatically. If you want only some specific emails to be forwarded then you can click on choose filters in which you can specify sender’s or email containing specific subject lines etc.

  5. You will get a verification code on the email account on which you have configured your messages to be automatically forwarded and you need to enter it in the box.

  6. It is better to open another email account on any browser so that both the accounts can be opened at the same time.

  7. After entering verification code, you need to click on Save Changes.

That’s it, now you will get all your emails or important emails in a single inbox. Forwarded emails will still be there in the original inbox. Anytime, if you wish to cancel auto forwarding of messages then you just need to login the inbox from which messages are being forwarded. Go to Gmail account settings menu and then click on Remove Address. You will no longer get emails forwarded automatically.
