3. Insufficient Disk Space

  • First of all, stop running backup process.
  • Now go to Time Machine Settings menu and click on the Red X to stop the process.
  • Delete the inProgress backup file as well.
  • Now from the Finder menu, click on Go > Time Machine drive.
  • Locate the “Backups.backupd”
  • Now look for the folder with your Mac computer name on it.
  • In the search bar, type .inProgress. As you get the file, delete it
  • Now restart your computer and start the process again.

5. High Sierra Running Slow

If your Mac with High Sierra freezes upon you, then first wait for a while, it might respond on its own. If it doesn’t, reboot your Mac. If your Mac computer is not working properly after upgrading your Mac to High Sierra. Try these methods to resolve the issues.

Fix 1: Reset NVRAM

If you have installed macOS High Sierra but your Mac is not coming up. You can try to reset NVRAM(non-volatile RAM). It saves numerous settings such as time zone, time, date, kernel panic, display resolution. Let’s follow these steps to reset NVRAM:

  1. Start your Mac computer by pressing and holding, Command, Option, R and P keys together
  2. Hold the four keys for approx. 20 seconds

To initiate Internet Recovery, follow these steps:

  • Restart your Mac

7. Wifi Connection Runs Slow On High Sierra

  • Go to Finder.
  • Press Shift + Command and G together
  • Now Type: /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/

Fix: If your Mac’s battery has degraded after upgrading to macOS, then you can follow these steps to see what’s wrong:

  • From the finder’s menu, Click on Go-> Utilities.
  • From the Utilities, search for Activity Monitor and click on it
  • Now click the Energy tab.
  • If you find any of the app wasted system resources, then reset it or remove it if it is unwanted.

After updating High Sierra, if your app doesn’t work properly, the reason could be Apple moved to 64-bit architecture since the launch of macOS High Sierra. This means the 32-bit apps will not work the newer version.

11. High Sierra Mail Problems

Fix: If your High Sierra mail app has issue, then you need to make changes to some settings to get it right. Follow these steps:

  • Click on Apple icon and click System Preferences.
  • Now click Notifications

  • Select Mail

  • Change the alert style from Banner or any other that you have set to None.
  • Now switch it back to Banner.
  • This could make Mail notification work again.
