WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app owned by Meta, is getting ready to introduce a brand-new feature. While WhatsApp has provided video calling capabilities for quite some time now, users frequently complain that the tool’s functionality is minimal. However, it seems that a significant upgrade is on the horizon. Recent reports from WABetaInfo suggest that WhatsApp is currently in the testing phase for integrating a screen-sharing feature into its video calls.
Reports suggest the imminent release of a highly anticipated screen-sharing feature, accompanied by a noteworthy change in tab placement within the app’s bottom navigation bar. The latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.11.19 update, now available for select beta testers via the Google Play Store, unlocks this new feature.
WhatsApp has introduced a brand-new screen-sharing button conveniently placed on a tray located at the bottom of the interface. Positioned alongside the familiar video and audio mute buttons, this new addition offers users quick access to the screen-sharing feature. Upon clicking the screen-sharing option, users will be greeted with a prompt that guides them through the seamless process of sharing their screen.

Moreover, it is crucial to note that if the recipient is using an outdated version of WhatsApp, they might encounter limitations when attempting to view the shared content on their screen. To fully enjoy the screen-sharing experience, it is advisable for all parties involved to maintain an updated version of the app, fostering optimal compatibility and ensuring a seamless sharing session.
Although still in its testing phase, the feature is expected to make its way into the stable version of WhatsApp in the coming weeks. WABetaInfo suggests that the feature has already been made available to a select group of users on the beta channel.
