Google Introduces ‘.ing’ Domain for Single-Word Websites – Here’s How

Google Registry has introduced a fresh domain extension, “.ing,” enabling brands, users, and businesses to craft concise, one-word website addresses. During Google’s early access phase, users can secure .ing domains, but there is an additional one-time cost. The fee will gradually decrease each day until December 5th, when .ing domains will become accessible to the public at 16:00 UTC (noon ET).

Google said “There’s a new domain launching today that lets you build your website in a single word: .ing. This top-level domain is ready for whatever you’re interested in, whether it’s mak.ing a fun website, giv.ing to a good cause, design.ing something beautiful or edit.ing an existing document. If you’re go.ing on an adventure, ink.ing a tattoo, enjoying a dumpl.ing or adapt.ing to something new, .ing is ready for action. So who’s already on .ing?”

Certain popular website names ending with “-ing” are presently obtainable at premium prices. For instance, registering domains like buy.ing and think.ing and buy.ing would cost you $ 130110.97 and $ 39033.28 per year, respectively. On the other hand, words like kin.ing can be secured for $ 195.16 annually, while dye.ing can be bought for $ 3903.32 annually.

It’s worth mentioning that certain domains have already been claimed. For example, Canva has secured draw.ing and design.ing, while Adobe Acrobat has registered sign.ing and edit.ing. Users can attempt to access these websites using these newly acquired domains.

Meanwhile, Google Registry is actively working on a comical/funny domain called “.meme,” as unveiled in an announcement back in August. Currently, the .meme domain is in a registration stage, set to enter early access on November 28th, and it will open to the general users on December 5th.
