Google Duo Now Supports 32-member group call and adds Family Mode, Snapchat Filters

Zoom has proven to be untrustworthy, yet many people use it because they don’t find anything better. If you too are looking for an alternative to Zoom, here’s good news. Google Duo, your favorite video calling app, will now let you host up to 32 participants in a video call.

Earlier in March Google Duo increased video callers from 8 to 12 and now 32. To highlight new features, the company has started sending out email promotions, as shown below:

Google is not the only company making changes; there are others too. Facebook added Messenger Rooms and WhatsApp increased the number of persons you can add to video calls, i.e. 8. Yet Google Duo remains Google Duo, and its new features are attracting many users.

When will this change come into effect?

From the recent promotion email, it is clear that the 32-person group call will be added, but when that is unclear. Indeed, this change is welcoming, but large colleges and groups will not be able to take advantage of this change. However, the new update will be enough for most people.

In addition to this, a few additional features are also being added to Duo.

What is the new family mode?

Family mode allows users to Doodle on-screen in real-time and adds various effects that look like Snapchat masks on the screen. All this can be done without worrying about hanging up the call or accidentally muting that call. Using these new changes, you can have fun with the family during the quarantine.

In honor of Mother’s Day, the first effect is a vase of flowers.

To use it, you’ll need to sign in to your Google Account.

Due to the current situation, what changes did Google make?

Supporting 32 members in a group call, the family mode will certainly help users. However, if you want to make professional calls use Google Meet while for personal interaction Google Duo remains a versatile tool.

Family Mode is fun, and it makes you feel more connected. To use the Family mode, tap the menu items after initiating the call > tap Family options. This will hide all the buttons that might suddenly end the call. These emails you can Doodle, apply face mask without worrying about disconnecting the call.
