YouTube Music, owned by Google, has initiated the release of its real-time lyrics feature for Android and iOS platforms. As reported by 9to5Google, some YouTube Music subscribers have confirmed receiving the update, although it is not yet universally available. The feature bears a resemblance to the real-time lyrics feature already present on other music streaming services, including Spotify and Apple Music.

The new feature introduced by YouTube Music is comparable to karaoke for your music app. Similar to Spotify, the lyrics now synchronize with the song in real-time, highlighting the relevant excerpt as the words are sung. This feature makes it simpler to follow and comprehend the lyrics the artist sings.

What is Real-Time Lyrics Feature in Spotify & Apple Music App?

The real-time lyrics feature on Spotify and Apple Music is a feature that allows users to view the lyrics of a song in real-time as they listen to it. The feature syncs the lyrics with the music, highlighting the current section of the song being played. This enables users to follow along with the lyrics more easily and understand the song’s meaning better. The real-time lyrics feature is especially useful for those who enjoy singing along to their favorite songs or those who want to understand the lyrics better.

Availability of This Feature For All Users

The latest real-time lyrics feature is being introduced via a server-side update, implying that it is an account-based modification and not dependent on the version of the application. As the company has yet to make an official statement, the live lyrics option remains restricted in terms of availability at present.  Although the feature is currently in the initial stages of its release, it may take several weeks before it is accessible to a significant number of users due to the phased rollout by Google.
