How To Disable Location Tracking On MacOS High Sierra?

MacOS High Sierra offers in-built location tracking feature which keeps a list of locations you have travelled. The location based feature is known as “Significant Locations”. The suggestions are based on locations with Siri, Spotlight, Safari and Maps.

As per Apple, location is stored locally on your Mac machine and is in encrypted form, although it is not shared with Apple servers.

However, in case, if you still do not want this feature, then you can get rid of it.

Check out our tutorial below on how you can disable location tracking on macOS High Sierra.

Disable Location Tracking On macOS High Sierra:

You can follow the steps below to disable Significant Locations on macOS High Sierra.

Also, you can look at your presently stored Locations by clicking on the Details button.

Here, you will see a list of locations you visited.

Unfortunately, you cannot delete those locations individually. However, you can click on “Clear History” button and this will delete all the Location information stored by “Significant Locations” Service on your Mac.

Once this done, your Mac will no longer recognize your location, unless you turn it back on again.

That’s all folks! Now Apple will not trace your immediate vicinity. If you like this tutorial, please feel free to share your comments below.
