Elon Musk has recently announced that Twitter will soon roll out a host of new features aimed at enhancing user experience and privacy. According to Musk, Twitter will be launching encrypted messaging, calling options, and other updates to provide users with a more secure and seamless platform. With the addition of these features, Twitter is expected to compete with other messaging giants such as WhatsApp and Signal.
“In a move aimed at enhancing user privacy and security, Twitter has announced the launch of its new encrypted DMs V1.0. With this latest update, Twitter users will now be able to reply to any message in a DM thread, as well as use any emoji reaction. Additionally, Twitter is expected to introduce a new voice and video chat feature that will enable users to call anyone on the platform.”
Note: All these updates are coming to the Twitter Android and iOS app, not on the web platform of Twitter.
“With latest version of app, you can DM reply to any message in the thread (not just most recent) and use any emoji reaction. Release of encrypted DMs V1.0 should happen tomorrow. This will grow in sophistication rapidly. The acid test is that I could not see your DMs even if there was a gun to my head. Coming soon will be voice and video chat from your handle to anyone on this platform, so you can talk to people anywhere in the world without giving them your phone number,” Elon Musk Musk tweeted.
Long story, short –
- Twitter’s latest app version now supports DM replies allowing users to respond to any message received and react using emojis, similar to Instagram and WhatsApp.
- Twitter is set to launch encrypted DM 1.0. This latest update is expected to offer a more secure and seamless experience for users who are looking for better protection for their personal messages.
- Musk announces soon-to-be-launched voice and video chat feature on Twitter allowing users to communicate globally without sharing their number.
