Facebook despite of more than 2 billion active users doesn’t seem to be content with its accomplishments. It leaves no stone unturnedb when it comes to attracting more and more users. Whether it’s spending on innovation, or stealing the features from its competitors, Facebook’s sole aim seems to be how to stay on top by hook or crook.
If we flip some pages of history we will find that Facebook many times copied the trending feature and mostly from one of its closest rival Snapchat. Say for an example the face filters and ephemeral photo messages which literally are innovation of Snapchat are robbed by Facebook and implemented in its messenger app. Now Facebook one more time seems to be repeating this act by stealing another well-known feature of Snapchat i.e. Streak.

As reported by a Twitter user, Facebook for its messenger app is testing a new streak feature. However, this feature presently seems to be on experimental bases with few limited users.
What is Streak Feature?
If we talk about Snapchat to which this feature till now originally belongs, engages the users to send the snaps back and forth over consecutive days. This feature is one of the addictive feature among the users as they always try to maintain this streak for as long as possible. The users take this as a game and try their level best so that the chain of streaks doesn’t breaks. There are several of user who daily signs in to their Snapchat account so that the streak count keeps on ticking.
How This feature Will Work
As stated earlier this feature is not officially rolled out and it is in experimental phase with handful of users. However as per the reports published in Mashable that a Facebook person confirmed them regarding the feature and says” it was a way to see at a glance fun facts about the people you message with.”
“For example, a lightning bolt may appear next to the name of a person you’ve messaged with for at least three days in a row, and a counter will indicate how many consecutive days you’ve been chatting. We’re interested to see if people enjoy this insight, but we don’t have any additional information to share at this time.”
Moreover, as per the image shared by the Twitter user whenever you start a message chat with your friend on messenger a prompt will appear asking you to maintain this streak. Also, an icon will be displayed once you start messaging with your friend for consecutive two days. It means this feature is almost similar to the snap streak feature.
No doubt this feature will help Facebook in attracting more users towards its messenger app. Also, if this feature receives a good response then it will be implemented to other Facebook owned apps like Instagram and WhatsApp.
