How to Use Siri and Maps To Keep a Track of Your Parked Car

We have always encountered a problem, where we are unable to find the location of our car. It is common to forget the location of our parked car in a big parking lot. And we waste lots of time and energy in finding it.

Thanks to Apple, they have provided a solution to this problem. Now using Maps, you can mark the location where you have parked the car.

There are two things you must keep in mind before you can use this feature. You need to have an iPhone and Bluetooth stereo in your car.

This location marking feature is automatic and to use it you just have to enable it.

How Does This Feature Work?

Whenever iPhone gets disconnected from car’s Bluetooth stereo, it marks the location where it happened on the map.

So, whenever you can’t remember the location of your car you can simply open Maps and check the location of the car.

Set Your iPhone To Remember Where You Parked

This feature is available on iPhone 6 and newer versions running iOS 10, and later versions.

To make iPhone remember your location you have to enable Show Parked Location, to do so follow the steps below:

After you enable this setting, your iPhone is set to remember the location of the car when it is disconnected from car’s Bluetooth stereo.

Now whenever your phone disconnects with your car’s Bluetooth stereo it will mark the location.

How to find your parked car with Maps on iPhone?

This feature will come into play when you are unable to find your parked car. This situation arises when you parked your car in a big parking lot or when you are attending a concert and do not remember where you parked it.

To locate your car, open Maps application on your iPhone, tap on the search bar and from the list of suggestions select Parked Car. When you tap on the parked Car suggestion, location of your car will be displayed on Maps. Now, you can get directions from your current location to your parked car location.

Note: To use this feature your car must have Bluetooth stereo.

Manually remember the location

If you car doesn’t have Bluetooth stereo or Bluetooth is not working in the stereo or you prefer riding bike instead of car, then you can simply mark your location manually.

First Method

To manually mark location simply hard press on the Maps app icon and then select Mark My location. This hard press will only work with 3D Touch devices.

Second Method

To mark the location without 3D Touch you have to open Maps application and then click on information icon, and then tap on Mark My Location.

Now your location is marked on the maps, and at any time if you wish to check the location again, you have to open Maps application and you will see Marked Location in suggestions.

Now you do not have to worry about losing the location of your vehicle. You just open the Maps application and you will see the marked location. Show Parked Location will help you in finding your car in no time. And if you are missing Bluetooth stereo you can manually mark the location.
