How to Declutter Your Facebook News Feed

Managing News Feed section got a whole lot easier

Everyone will agree that Facebook has become an indispensable part of our lives. It is the first thing we like to check and imagining our life without it impossible. But useless posts makes the experience worthless. If there is no relevant or interesting content, then what is the use?

The first thing we see is latest news and updates waiting in our News Feed section. They can be from anyone in our friend list. It is really annoying to see a littered page, Facebook understands it and that’s why it has rolled out set of controls that make it easier to see relevant things and banish things you don’t care about. The News Feed preferences tool with four simple tools, will help select pages and friends that you want to see at the top of your News Feed every time you load it. Thus making sure that you don’t miss updates you want to see on top.

Where can we find this tool and how to use? This is the very first questions striking our mind. But do not worry as we will tell you everything about this new update in detail.

How to set your News Feed priority?

By default, Facebook News Feeds sort the stories based on our recent likes and active friends. But you can fine tune your Facebook News Feed to see the stuff you are interested in.

We usually use Facebook app to access Facebook, therefore we will discuss about it.

  1. Open the Facebook appon your smartphone and open the settings menu
  2. Next, scroll down to the Settings sectionand select News Feed Preferences.

  1. From here you can quickly adjust all of your News Feed settings.
  2. To change the News Feed you see first in your News Feed, tap Prioritize who to see first, select the people you want, and press “Done.”

The next two settings emphasize upon the “unfollow” feature that lets you stay friends without seeing their mindless posts or nasty links on your News Feed every morning. You can also make a zip of all the people you’re friends with and add them to your “unfollow” list.

On the other side, you can see list of everyone you’ve unfollowed and add them back into your feed. It will also inform you when you unfollowed them.

The last one is a discovery option that helps you to find new pages to follow. The suggestions are based on pages you’ve liked in the past.

This is a smart way of filtering News Feed and to deal with bulky News Feed section. We have been using alternate ways in the past, but having these features all in one place makes managing News Feed section lot easier. These settings are available for both iOS and Android users.
