Weather widget on the Lock Screen of iPhone is a must have, as it provides instant weather updates without having to unlock it. However, recently, many iPhone users have reported to Apple Support about the Weather widget not working on iOS 11 or its subsequent versions.
If you too are facing the same, some of the solutions listed below should help you fix it on your iPhone.
Add Weather Widget To Lock Screen:
Starting from the scratch, if you have not added weather widget on the lock screen of your iPhone. You can follow the steps below:
- Swipe right from the left of Lock Screen of your iPhone.
- Now, scroll down to bottom and tap on the Edit.
- Here, scroll down to “Add More Widgets” and tap on the + button next to the Weather widget.
- Next, tap on Done, at top right corner to confirm the settings.
If you have already added the weather widget then remove it and re-add the widget again.
- Now, force restart your iPhone. Simply, press and hold the Power ON/OFF button until the Apple logo appears on the screen of your iPhone.
- Once your device has restarted, go to the Lock screen to check if the Weather widget has started working or not.
Allow Weather App To Always Access Your Location:
The weather App needs to access your location to provide you with updated Weather. In case you allow it, “While using the App”, then it will be updated only when you open the App.
To see the updated weather, you will need to allow the Weather App to “Always” Access your location by following the steps below.
- Launch Settings on your iPhone.
- Here, tap on Privacy.
- Next, tap on Location Services.
- Now, tap on Weather.
- Finally, tap on Always.
Reset Location And Privacy:
If you are still facing problem, you can try to reset the location and privacy.
- Open Settings > General > Reset.
- Next, tap on Reset Location & Privacy option.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear, here tap on confirm.
Delete Weather App And Reinstall It Again:
If the Weather Widget is still not functioning properly, then it’s time to delete the app and reinstall it again.
To do so, you can follow the steps below:
- Tap and long press the Weather App and tap on the “X” button.
- On the pop-up that appears, tap on Delete.
- Now, turn OFF your iPhone and wait for 30 seconds and then turn it ON again.
- Now, go to the App Store, search for the weather App and Reinstall it again.
Update Latest Version Of iOS:
The problem not yet resolved? Then your last resort is to update it to the latest version of iOS. This step will also help you run your iPhone smoothly. To update your iPhone, follow the steps below:
- Launch Settings on your iPhone.
- Now, tap on General.
- Next, tap on Software Update.
- Your iPhone will start. Check for latest updates. If an update is available, tap on Download & Install.
