Facebook’s New App Tuned – For Couples to Stay Connected with Each Other

In 2019 Facebook launched a Dating app and now a small team within Facebook known as New Product Experimentation (NPE) creates and releases a couple apps called Tuned. This free app describes itself as a safe and private space to be what you are with your partner. Moreover, Tuned inspires couples to create a social network between themselves. Available only for iOS users this app allows couples to share music, moods and create a digital scrapbook.

But why did the New Product Experimentation team release this app?

Why an app for couples?

Tuned has arrived during a time when everyone more than ever is staying at home with their family. This means couples are not only spending time but are spending every waking moment with one another and they don’t need an app like this.

But those couples who aren’t together due to any reason this app is like a blessing in disguise. Using Tuned during an unprecedented time like this, couples can stay connected and close even when they are far.

This simple multimedia app allows couples to send stickers to their loved ones. The app also allows Spotify integration. This means you can share your favourite songs and dance on the tunes.

How to use the Tuned – couples app?

To use the app, you need to add your partner’s phone number. Once done you can start sending a text, voice messages, songs, stickers, photos, memes and more. Its integration with Spotify makes the app more interesting and couples feel more connected. Furthermore, couples can create their own digital scrapbook.

That’s not all!

The best part about Tuned is yet to come, to use this couple messaging app, you don’t need a Facebook account and it is completely free.

Isn’t this great?

In what all countries Tuned is released?

Currently Tuned is available in the US and Canada. You can download it from Apple’s App Store.

What about data privacy?

Worry not, Tuned adheres to Facebook’s data policy, allowing them to gather user behaviour and communication to help design targeted ads or can say advertisement purposes.

Is this the first app launched by the NPE team?

NPE was created last summer and since then they have created a meme making app, an app like Pinterest. But none of them were promoted so we assume the same thing will happen with Tuned. Whatever the case be, it’s interesting to see Facebook is experimenting with smaller social network connections publicly.

It seems like a great initiative from NPE to connect couples. But do you think this is the right time to release Tuned? What do you have to say? Do share your thoughts in the comment section or leave us a comment on any of your social accounts.
