How To Create YouTube Live Stream From Your Desktop & Mobile

YouTube Live Streaming can help brands and creators to make more personal connections with their audience. The video content we have been watching on the platform is recorded first, edited & then uploaded for the target audience. However, with the trending stride, YouTube now lets users stream videos in real-time for the viewers.

But, before you begin with YouTube streaming, there are certain things that you are required to follow before you take advantage of the feature:

Start YouTube Live Stream On Desktop

Read the step-by-step guide to learn how to start YouTube Streaming on PC & Mobile:

Step 1- Verify Your YouTube Account

The purpose of verifying your YouTube account is to guarantee the identity, & avoid abuse of spam content sharing. To verify your account for live stream, follow the steps below:

You have to wait for 24 hours to get your account verified for live streaming. Once the time passed, you can broadcast a live stream on your desktop or mobile.

Step 2- Set up a Webcam If Necessary

Step 3- Start YouTube Live Streaming

Click on the Camera-shaped icon, located at the top-right of the YouTube dashboard. Click on Go Live button > Allow to give your browser the permission to access Webcam > Enter a Title to your stream >  Make it Public >  Next > YouTube will ask you to pose for your live streaming Thumbnail. Let your Webcam capture the picture & click the Go Live button to proceed.

You can click on the END Stream button to end the live stream when required. The YouTube live streaming video will automatically be saved to your channel.

How To Live Stream Game or Movie On YouTube?

To Live Stream games on YouTube, you need to have an encoder software that lets you broadcast your gameplay, movies and more. Check out the list of Encoders that would allow you to capture your game’s output & then lets you stream it to YouTube.

Follow the process below to create a Live Stream with Encoder:

Step 1- Install and setup the Encoder

Step 2- Since we’ve already told you how to verify your YouTube account for live streaming, you can proceed with the next step.

Step 3 – Click on the Upload icon, located at the top-right corner of the screen on YouTube

Step 4 –Click on Go Live button > you’ll be taken to the Live Control Room. Here you have to set up your streams to go further for YouTube streaming

Step 5 – Click on Stream at the top of the screen > give Title & description > set Privacy

Step 6 – Now start your encoder & go back to the live dashboard & wait for the preview to pop-up

Step 7 – Simply click on Go Live button, it’s located at the right-hand side

Once done, click on the End Stream button, & stop sending content from your set encoder. If your stream is under 12 hours of duration, the video will automatically be archived. To access your Live Streams, you can go to Live tap on your YouTube Studio dashboard.

Start YouTube Live Stream On Mobile Device

Make sure you have at least 1,000 subscribers to start the YouTube streaming. If you do, follow the steps below:

Step 1- Launch YouTube on your device and log into your account, if required.

Step 2-  Tap the Camera icon, & select the Go Live option.

Step 3- Allow YouTube to access Camera, Microphone, & Location for going live.

Step 4- You can choose the Camera icon to record the Livestream, or choose the Phone icon in order to capture things present on your screen.

Step 5- Give your YouTube Live Stream an appropriate Title, and choose the Privacy Settings.

Step 6 – You can go to More Options for further customizing your Livestream. These options include Scheduling Live Stream, Live Chats & Age restrictions for viewers.

Step 7 – Let your Phone camera capture the thumbnail for your YouTube Live Stream or you can even choose to upload a thumbnail picture.

Step 8- Choose the Share option, and tap on the Go Live button to start with YouTube Live Streaming.

Just tap on the Finish button to end your live stream followed by OK button.
