The Inside Story on Android’s Upcoming Device Linking Feature
Back then, our insights were limited to the ability to transfer calls between devices and an array of undisclosed functionalities for sharing the internet. Presently, a window is opening into those enigmatic choices, revealing more about what they entail.
Imagine an “Instant Hotspot” trait that empowers your interconnected devices to activate your phone’s hotspot feature whenever they require internet access. This could seamlessly cooperate with an “Internet Sharing” alternative, facilitating Chromebooks and other gadgets logged into your Google account to mutually share Internet connections.
Thanks to the “Auto Wi-Fi Sharing” switch, devices can establish connections effortlessly, eliminating the need to input a password every time.
With security in mind, an alternative called “Randomized Name & Password” would shield the instant hotspot from being detected by other devices as they interlink. Many of these features require Bluetooth to be turned on and each device must have you signed into your Google account.
