Instagram’s pulling out all stops to get more out its popularity. Initially conceived as a photo sharing app, the makers then turned a platform for online shopping, and has been continually adding fun features to maintain a steady user count.
In its latest move, Instagram has added AR face filters to make the photo uploads wackier and appealing.
Nothing original there though. From ‘Stories’ to overlaid creative tools, and now the AR Face Filters, it’s obviously going after Snapchat, which is becoming the more preferred social networking tool among youngsters. Instagram has added eight face filters just like Snapchat. You can add nerd glasses, golden crown, bunny ears and more. You can beautify your face and look more glamorous with the filters.
In addition, Eraser tool, Rewind Mode and other features too were included in the update rolled out on Tuesday.

Face Filters:
Instagram wants to be a strong player in the visual communications department.
This feature enables you to use different filters to your and others’ face, make your images look cooler than ever. It has been targeted towards varying age groups. Using the filters is simpler than Snapchat’s model. That could just mean that Instagram defeated the latter at their own game!
To get the access to these face filters, you need to Tap on the camera icon on the top left-hand corner. You will see a new face icon beside camera select button. There are several options to choose from. You can choose a nerdy look with the Glasses or a cute Bunny; you can also feel like a princess by adding virtual Gold Crown or make your face smoother and wrinkle free by Makeup Filter. Moreover, Instagram has said, more is in the pipeline.

Eraser tool:
Eraser Brush is the new tool added to drawing tools menu. It lets you remove the color of the background for your image and also enable you to remove things that you have drawn. This feature was added to Snapchat earlier this month and Instagram has also adapted the same.

Rewind Mode
Rewind is another awesome feature that Instagram has added in its latest update. You must have understood by the name, what it’s functionality is. It plays the videos in reverse! It is added to the camera feature along with Boomerang and Hands-free. All you need to do, select the rewind option and capture yourself breaking the rules of gravity or that matter all law of Physics!

Add HashTag In A Photo
Last but definitely not the least! #HASHTAG is Instagram’s ‘original’ new feature. It allows you to add a title, story post or name to the image as a sticker. After the story is posted, people will be able to see the Hashtag and by clicking on it, they can go to the hashtag page and see the related posts as well.

Instagram is poised to outcompete Snapchat with these new features. Snapchat has lost 25% of its share price value already. Well, everything about Instagram and Snapchat appears to be same now. So either of the two has to add something cooler soon enough to woo social media addicts.
