21 Big Technologies of the Next Decade – Part 2

In the previous blog I listed some of the technologies that we would see in the next decade. In this blog I would continue the remaining technologies of my list. Seeing the developments I feel that the scientists don’t limit themselves to a single place. From the whole world is their laboratory.

1.      Visual Learning Robotics –

Diffbot, is working on a new idea in robotics. It uses visual learning robots to extract and analyze content on the web the same way that people do. The mission behind such a project is to develop software robots to understand the webpages, so that we can extract meaningful information and build a database of freely accessible human knowledge. AOL is already using Diffbot to pull relevant content from web and organize stories for its iPad magazine.

2.      Internet Data Expansion –

People are working on the standards of 5G and as I said before we may be using 5G in the next decade. The mere reason for the requirement of this development is the increasing demands of good quality and high speed of mobile data by the consumers.

This demand becomes a cause for the need to expand our Internet bandwidths. Megabytes and Gigabytes are now the tales of old days. Bandwidth will multiply three million times through the next ten years, surpassing all other levels to reach ZETTABYTES.

3.      Commercial Space Exploration –

Would you like to take your partner on a spacewalk for 2050 Valentine? Or would you like to take a picture of Earth on the night of Diwali from Satellites? No, I am not joking about my question. This is no more a fiction movie. Scientists are actually working hard to make this a reality. Commercial enterprises are consulting with government led scientific endeavor for such tours.

John Gedmark, expert on commercial spaceflight, says, “In 10 years, we could see them flying thousands of people into space each year.”

4.      Subsea Robotics –

Subsea robotics refer to the machines which would work underwater and will help the people in the cleaning of the oil spills from beneath. An autonomous underwater vehicle is a robot that travels underwater without requiring input from an operator.

There is also a category of remotely operated Underwater Vehicles which are non-autonomous.

5.      Voice Recognition –

The ability of the machine or program to receive and interpret dictation, or to understand and carry out spoken commands is known as Voice Recognition or Speech Recognition. Well, Sir, Cortana, Alexa, Allo are the best examples of the Voice or Speech Recognition which almost everyone would have used.

I am sure you would be thinking what next upgraded systems could we have after Siri or Alexa. If we are to believe the predictions of David Jacobs of TechKnowledge Consulting Corporation, this technology can replace the keyboards in the next decade. Scientists are researching on its applications in different domains. Most importantly in Hospitals’ Emergency Rooms.

6.      Eye Recognition –

This could even be referred as Iris Recognition. It is an automated method of biometric identification that uses mathematical pattern recognition techniques on video images of one or both of the irises of an individual’s eyes, whose complex patterns are unique for each individual and can be detected from some distance. Many of the people confuse it by Retina Scanning. Iris recognition simple involves taking picture of the unique patterns within the ring-shaped region surrounding the pupil of the eye.

Boeing forecasts that there would be an annual increase of 4.2 percent in air passenger travel in the next decade. Good news is that the Human Recognition Systems and InSight from AOptix technologies will be waiting for you at the customs counter making the process of identity authentication much easier and faster. Hopes are that they may make passports control or passports completely obsolete.

7.      Mars Colony –

Our Scientists have set a good example about the limits. They have made this whole universe their experiment Laboratory. After the walk in the Space and on the Moon, they are aiming to other planets. And let me tell you, the aim is not just for the walk but for a long stay there.

Only 2 years ago, NASA announced about its startling facts about our neighboring planet, which also shows that men will be able to walk on Mars. Plans are also being made for the manned outpost on Mars. If we’re to lend ears to NASA officials, that day is not far off in time.

8.      Implantable Tech –

This decade has seen a great acceptance of the wearable technologies. It has become more like a fashion statement for the people to wear the Fitibit bands or wear the smart rings just to show their concern about their health. What next can you expect from the technology after all those wearable tech that we have in the market or after the Adidas T-shirt to monitor your heart rate? The next decade will mark the beginning of the implantable technology to human bodies. This advancement will surely be of a great help to the Medical personnel to monitor their patients from a distance.

This implantable technology will also function with the uses of chips and sensors to transmit data effectively.

9.      8K TVs –

Television or we can also say Display Screens are just inseparable from us. Wherever we go we do come across using it. Researchers are trying their best to make our experience with them better than the before. You can yourself see the proof of it. From black and white CRT TVs, we have come to Plasma Colorful TV with a full HD display.

The next in the line is the 8K resolution TV. 8K resolution or 8K UHD is the current highest ultra-high definition television resolution in digital television and digital cinematography. 8K UHD has two times the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 4K UHD with four times as many pixels overall, or sixteen times as many pixels as Full HD.

10.  Modular Phone –

Modular_phone

Though the world is not yet ready, but no one can stop the development from happening. Especially when it comes to mobile industry. Even before any development is known to all the people in the world a step ahead technology is launched. On one hand People are still learning the Edge Screen features and the smart advanced sensors coming in the phone. Whereas on the other hand the Mobile Industry is planning to launch the Modular phones.

Modular phones will enable user to upgrade to individual modules as per their own use at a point of time, and change them when required.

My list has come to an end, but the actual list is very long in comparison to it. I just gave you the glimpse of how the next decade of our life will be engulfed in the technologies.

Knowing about all the developments taking around us, I go through a mixed feeling. Sometimes I feel we are getting smarter than before, with everything just at a click’s distance. Sometimes I feel that technology is making us lazy couch potatoes, who don’t even want to press the button on the remote to change the channel. At times I even feel afraid of my own security, I feel I am being watched each and every moment. Be it any technology Security is of utmost importance. These are my thoughts on the developments.
