The storyline of the movie is how T’Challa, the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, returns to his home after the events of Captain America, civil war, and his father’s death.  It would be a worth watch, on how T’Challa succeeds to take his throne and takes his rightful place as the king of a technologically advanced African nation, Wakanda. Black Panther is based on the Marvel Comics character. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and produced by Kevin Feige.

2. Ready Player One

Book into a movie is always a risky move, but when Steven Spielberg decides to step in, our excitement levels are bound to notch up. Ready Player One is an American science fiction adventure film, based on the award-winning novel Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Steven Spielberg has directed the movie to give the audience an astonishing and stupefying experience that how most of the dwellings on earth will turn into slum cities because of overpopulation, climate change, pollution and corruption by the year 2045. The story is based on Wade Watts, who to get away from the bleak world and desolation, logs into Oasis.

3. The New Mutants

Another Marvel Comics based movie, The New Mutants is going to be the 11th installment in the X-Men film series. The movie is about five young mutants, who are discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will. They have to fight to save themselves. The New Mutants is directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay by himself and Knate Lee, they both have been a great admirer of the New Mutants while growing up together.

4. Avengers: Infinity War

This is another one of the series based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. The story revolves around the events after Captain America: Civil War. The Avengers team is no longer working together. The powerful Thanos arrives on Earth in the search for Infinity Stones. His mission is to make a gauntlet, which will allow him to bled reality according to his wish. It will be interesting how Avengers will come together & join forces with Guardians of the Galaxy to stop him.

5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Let’s accept it, Even after so many years, we aren’t still over Jurassic Park and all the movies that have followed so far.  Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is a sequel to the 2015 film Jurassic World. In other words, it is the fifth part of the Jurassic Park film series. The reboot ‘Jurassic World’ 2015 was a very big box office success,  with raving reviews from both audiences and critics. We are definitely counting on this one as one of the worth watching movies of 2018. Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and B. D. Wong from Jurassic World 2015 will make a reappearance. Moreover, this time Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, and James Cromwell will join the cast.

The Predator is a sci-fi action horror film, which is set between the events of Predator 2 (1990) and Predators(2010). Directed by Shane Black, this move aims to bridge the continuity gap between the two movies and possibly provide some answers about the 2010 movie’s events. As this film made its come back 8 years after the third part of the series, it can be counted as a potential blockbuster in sci-fi category in 2018.

7. The Meg

The Meg is a fully loaded package of science fiction action horror story, directed by Jon Turteltaub and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film is based on the sci-fi book Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror by Steve Alten and the story is around two friends, who need to stop the ancestors of a 70-foot white shark Carcharodon megalodon.

Another one based on a book, The Darkest Minds is a sci-fi thriller film based on the young adult novel with the same name by Alexandra Bracken. It is the story of a 16-year-old girl with special abilities, who manages to run away from a rehabilitation camp after a disease kills 98% of American children and fights against a corrupt government. The most entertaining part of the movie is, the surviving 2% children develop superpowers. The Darkest Minds is directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson and written by Chad Hodge.

9. X-Men: Dark Phoenix

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is the thirteenth installment in the X-Men film series, based on Marvel Comics’ X-Men characters and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The story of the movie is about one of Xavier’s most prized students ‘Jean Grey’ (Sophie Turner) who acquires extraordinary powers that corrupt and turn her into a Dark Phoenix. Now, X-Men are in a dilemma if to put on stake the lives of millions to save the team member or not. Although this can be considered a reboot to the shoddy Dark Phoenix plot from X-Men 3, we hope this version stays true to comic book origins.

10. Aquaman

Aquaman is a combination of action, adventure, and sci-fi film, which is based on DC Comics character of the same name. It is directed by James Wan, produced by Peter Safran and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.  Jason Momoa is cast as Arthur Curry / Aquaman, who is the king of the undersea nation of Atlantis, with the ability to manipulate the ocean tides. The story depicts how he maintains equilibrium between managing his nation and dealing with his enemies within the kingdom while learning new things about his heritage.
