Download Maps Offline
Once you’ve picked the destination and booked the flight tickets, then this is what you can do to make your life easier. Majority of renowned navigation apps including Google Maps offer us an offline maps feature which lets us access maps even without Internet. While traveling in low reception areas or in areas where data connectivity is almost nil, this feature might be really helpful.
If you have finally decided to go off-grid here’s what you need to do:
- Launch Google Maps app on your Smartphone.
- Tap on Menu>Offline Maps> Select your own map> Download.
- This will download the map in your phone’s internal memory. So now whenever you wish to access tap on Menu>Offline maps.
Super convenient, isn’t it? We hope now you won’t get lost in the dense jungles or while off-roading on the desert trails.
Geotag your Pictures without Being Online
Capturing instant photographs is one of the best perks of having a Smartphone. And Geotag helps us in remembering various details regarding these pictures like where was it taken, at what time it was clicked etc. Our Smartphone also sorts and keeps our memories organized with the help of Geotag information. But in areas of poor connectivity our Smartphone often fails to save this Geotag data. But with the help of an application you can easily retrieve or add Geotag location to your pictures. Let’s see how!
One convenient application is “Geotag” by Android’s buddy. To add a Geotag on an Android device all you have to do is choose a picture, tap the flag icon> Locate> Find Location. The app will then instantly bring up Google maps on the screen. Then you can easily pick the exact location where the picture was taken and save mobile data.
Enable Offline translation
Planning a trip of foreign country? Then most probably you’ll face issues due to language barrier, as people there won’t be able to communicate in your native language. So to overcome this trouble, here’s what you can do:
- Launch Google Translate app on your iPhone or Android device.
- Go to Menu> Offline Translation.
- From the available list of languages pick any one and then tap the Download button right next to it.
This will save the dictionary in your phone’s internal memory allowing you to use Google translate even without Internet.
